As the summer sun begins to mellow and the leaves begin to change, it’s time to turn our attention to autumn fun and planning for an unforgettable September in Yorkshire.     

From 1940s vintage dances to local foodie extravaganzas, it looks like it’s going to be a fun-filled month with plenty of seasonal fun for all the family. So, let’s take a closer look at what’s on in Yorkshire this September? 

Festival of Flavours at RHS Harlow Carr

6th – 7th September 2025 

The RHS Garden Harlow Carr Festival of Flavours is a real treat for gardeners and foodies – celebrating growing, cooking and the changing of the seasons all in one. Enjoy live cookery demos and workshops including a special appearance from nutritional therapist, Sam Hamrebtan, sharing knowledge of soil and gut health. Plus, there will be garden tours and floristry, as well as a delightful selection of stalls showcasing the best local food and drink producers and plant nurseries.

Saltaire Festival 

13th – 21st September 2025

If you fancy a little immersion in West Yorkshire heritage, then head over to Saltaire between the 13th and 21st September for ten days of community arts and music. Expect drama, exhibitions and spoken-word performances – all set in the UNESCO World Heritage village of Saltaire. Firmly set to be a lively celebration of local culture and one not to miss this autumn.

Grassington 1940s Weekend

20th – 21st September 2025

Held annually every September since 2011, the Grassington 1940s Weekend invites you to step back to the British wartime era for two days of big band fun and entertainment. With re-enactments, vintage dance classes and period vehicle displays, it’s a total dedication to all things forties, as well as a big celebration of Grassington’s fine selection of independent shops, cafes and pubs. Get dressed up and get involved!

Sabrina Ghayour Supper Club at Castle Howard

Thursday 18th September 2025

Visit the gorgeous Castle Howard estate this September for a very special Supper Club hosted by chef, food writer and author Sabrina Ghayour. A regular on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Sabrina is ready to indulge you for the evening with a delicious feasting menu of Persian and Middle Eastern-inspired mouth-watering recipes. 19th – 22th September
