EAT

Staying in Woodside Lodge opens you up to all the gastro-delights that the Harewood Estate has to offer. Pop into the Estate Farm Shop to pick up local produce and delicacies to enjoy within your own private space. Or, head over to the Muddy Boots café to enjoy a Full English Breakfast, freshly-made sandwiches and delicious cakes and snacks. Open daily during the week, it’s also open on alternate Friday and Saturday evenings for quiz nights and live music too! The Harewood Food & Drink Project also offers a host of seasonal products and foodie experiences such as food & wine pairings, pie & quiz nights and tasting menus – check their website for tickets before you arrive.

SLEEP

The lodge’s three bedrooms are bright, airy and modern, with luxurious bed linen, towels and toiletries. The master bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom, while the other 2 bedrooms share the family bathroom. There is an option to divide the beds in bedroom 2 to make twin beds should you request this upon booking. All bedrooms benefit from a lovely, calming colour palette inspired by the natural surrounds, so you can be sure to feel relaxed and restored all night long.

RELAX

Woodside Lodge is perfectly situated to enjoy all the relaxing beauty of the Estate, surrounded by trees and greenery. You can make use of the nearby Arch Barn Studio’s yoga and Pilates classes, available to book online, or treat yourself to a massage, facial or reiki treatment with one of the Estate’s expert therapists. After a day of strolling the grounds or exploring further afield, relax in the lodge’s wood-fired hot tub outside, or snuggle in by the log burner with a good book or a movie and enjoy the peacefulness of the quiet location.

EXPLORE

The Harewood Estate is the ultimate playground for outdoor enthusiasts. There are 15 miles of public bridle paths to enjoy by foot or bike as well as famous hiking routes that cross the Estate. Kids will love introducing themselves to the local Harewood farmyard family – including Highland Cattle, Herons, parkland deer, Hebridean sheep and Cyril – the infamous Vietnamese potbellied pig! The Emmerdale Village Tour is also a popular experience for fans of the show who want to immerse themselves in a behind-the-scenes tour!

By car the post code is LS17 9LF. Enter the estate from A659 Otley road turning left onto Weardley Lane (or right if approaching from pool in Wharfedale / Arthington)

Your next left takes you into the estate where signs guide you to the cottages and Estate office.

The drive to the cottage winds itself through the Woodland (and in some places uneven road) for about a mile, taking in breathtaking views of Harewood House and lake and passing an old stone bridge, ponds, waterfalls and often plenty of wildlife to be seen en route. As you tun the corner, Woodside Lodge sits first on the right where you will find ample parking for 3 cars and an EV point.
