Hillside, Near Whitby with Hot Tub

This beautifully renovated stone farmhouse is in an idyllic location in the spectacular North York Moors National Park. With breath taking views across the surrounding countryside towards the coast and stunning interior, you’ll feel yourself relax the moment you step inside. Sleeping up to 22 in 10 bedrooms, and with enough space to comfortably accommodate everyone, it’s the perfect place for a family reunion or a group getaway.

The large, homely sitting room, with its comfortable sofas, warming wood burner and book-lined shelves, is the ideal spot to chill out and chat with your guests. High ceilings and exposed wooden beams make this tastefully decorated room feel both spacious and cosy. There’s also a separate TV room with a Smart TV, which makes the perfect hangout or cinema space.

The large, contemporary fitted kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need to cater for your group, with two dishwashers and electric oven and hob. A large L-shaped sofa is a wonderfully sociable addition to this practical space. Sliding doors lead onto a large terrace with a long wooden table and chairs and sun loungers. There is also a hot tub on the terrace outside the kitchen. Hot tub hire an additional £150 – must be requested upon booking.

Just off the kitchen you’ll find the spacious dining room with a table big enough to seat up to 22. This charming room has a lovely country cottage feel to it and is perfect for formal or informal dining.

At Hillside Farm, the outdoor space is just as impressive as the indoor. The huge terrace offers spectacular views across the lush, green moors to the sea, and padded wicker loungers are provided so you can enjoy the views in comfort and style. The hot tub is situated on the terrace. Hot tub hire an additional £150 – must be requested upon booking.

When night time falls, you’ll be spoilt for choice with 10 comfortable bedrooms on offer, comprising kings, doubles and twins, with one family room sleeping four. All of the bedrooms have a private ensuite with WC, hand basin and bath or shower.

Hillside Farm is located two miles from the pretty village of Sleights, where you’ll find a choice of shops and eateries. Five miles away is the popular seaside town of Whitby, famous for connections to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Whitby Jet and fantastic fish and chips. Sandsend Beach is also 5 miles away.

Large sitting room has with full height ceilings and exposed beams, log burner, large comfy sofas and chairs. Windows with far reaching views towards the sea and Whitby.

Boot room and utility room, which has a washing machine, dryer and sink.

The large dining room with seating for 22 leads through to the kitchen which has fitted units, an L shaped sofa, large island, two dishwashers, cooker, sink and large sliding doors with wonderful views and access onto a large terrace.

There are two double bedrooms with shower rooms ensuite on the ground floor:

Bedroom 8: 1 double bed with ensuite shower

The TV room leads from the kitchen and has a large L shaped sofa, smart TV and ensuite shower room.

There is access from the kitchen, utility room and passage way to the back terrace with access up the garden steps to Bedroom 10 and access to Bedroom 9 on the ground floor level.

Bedroom 9 is also accessed only from outside and has 1 super king bed (zip and link) with ensuite shower room

Hillside is situated in Littlebeck, five miles from the Yorkshire Coast and two miles from Sleights, where there is a well stocked Spar shop, Radfords Butchers, fish and chip shop, Bothams bakery, hair and beauty salon. Grosmont also has a village shop, pub, excellent gallery and several coffee shops on hand.

The house is 5 miles from the beach at Sandsend and Whitby, both local seaside towns with beaches, cafes and pubs.

Whitby is an ancient port with a fascinating history, famed by Captain Cook and Brahm Stoker’s Dracula, with a ruined abbey and working harbour.  It also has sandy beaches with rock pools and some of the best fish and chips in the world!

A wonderful town to visit with lots of fun to be had for families with the Abbey, and Abbey Visitor Centre which are wonderful attractions. The River Esk runs through a deep valley which broadens out as it comes near the harbour.

Robin Hoods Bay is close by with its old stone fishermen’s cottages and cobbled streets with cafes, restaurants, artisan shops and the view across the bay to the Ravenscar headland not to be missed.

There are wonderful local walks with many stretches along the coastline via The Cleveland Way. Perhaps the most rewarding is the spectacular 3.5 mile stretch between Robins Hood’s Bay and Ravenscar.  The moors themselves also offer a wealth of walks further inland.

The Esk Valley Railway with services provided by Northern Rail has stations in both Sleights and Grosmont, where the North Yorkshire Moors Railway also has it’s base.

Whitby has a train station.

On arrival it was evident that Hillside Farm was a perfect location, With stunning views across to Whitby that have to be seen to be believed, to the high end furnishings and fully equipped kitchen this location is perfect.

Absolutely five star, I only wish I had an excuse to book again (I will think of something).  highly recommend for anyone looking for somewhere special.

The rooms are splendid, the hot tub a huge hit, the views sensational, location ideal.

We had a fabulous weekend of celebration- the house is lovely and set in a beautiful location-it is very well equipped with good quality furnishings -the hot tub was particularly popular. Everything was great for all age groups from 11 months to 80years-thank you

Hillside Farm is a beautiful retreat. Decorated and furnished to a very high standard with amazing spaces for entertaining large groups both inside and out. Perfect for a reunion or family gathering. The house is exceptional and the views are to die for!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hillside, it was perfect for our family gathering. Lots of space, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, well equipped, and views we didn’t want to leave behind.

Hillside Farm is a wonderful property with outstanding views. The housekeeper is very helpful and has kept the property immaculate. It is well equipped and 22 of us enjoyed a fabulous 3 night break.
