Murlough Point is a stunning, newly built, luxury holiday home in a secluded hideaway at Murlough Nature Reserve – one of Northern Ireland’s most beautiful areas. This private retreat, nestled in the heart of nature, sleeps 12 guests across three floors and two buildings with a spectacular backdrop of the Mourne Mountains.
Eat
At the heart of the house is a stunning, fully equipped kitchen with an Everhot cooker, coffee machine, Smeg fridge, and two dishwashers. It’s perfect for preparing home-cooked family meals or prepping snacks to pop in your packed-lunch boxes when exploring the Mourne Mountains. The spacious dining area comfortably seats 12 guests and is great for gathering together for every social occasion. Step outside, and you’ll find a sheltered courtyard with plenty of outdoor seating, a BBQ, and an outdoor fire for alfresco dining. There’s also a bar area for casual drinks with 2 under-counter fridges to keep well-stocked! Dundrum village is just a mile away and has two excellent places to eat: Mourne Seafood, a lively local seafood restaurant and The Bucks Head, an exciting, newly refurbished fine dining pub. In addition The Dundrum Inn is a traditional Irish pub with occasional live music and a great atmosphere. There are also two great take-aways, the Squid Shack (owned by Mourne Seafood) and Scoper, a hot food bar, run by local chef, offering dishes which are made with fresh, seasonal local produce.
Sleep
Murlough Point boasts six immaculately designed bedrooms, making it the perfect family-friendly holiday home for larger groups. Three of the bedrooms are located upstairs with a choice of a bath or a shower, while all the beds can be arranged as singles or doubles. Two further bedrooms are on the lower ground floor, including one with a king-size bed and a walk-in en-suite shower. The sixth bedroom is located in the Bunk House across from the main house and features a sofa bed and its own bathroom.
Relax
Designed for utter relaxation, there are many places to chill and get some down time. Snuggle in the cosy TV room, catch up on emails in the small office upstairs, or grab some popcorn and nestle into the cinema room with a wide-screen TV and four comfy sofas. The house also features a games room with table tennis and snooker, plus a sauna (available for an additional cost). Outside, you can unwind in the sheltered courtyard with outdoor seating and a fire pit, or enjoy the hot outdoor shower after a day on the nearby beach.

Set within the Murlough Nature Reserve, there’s a wonderful abundance of natural beauty right on your doorstep. With access to stunning walking trails and the wide sands of nearby Murlough Beach, you’re literally spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a route to take. You’re also perfectly placed to explore the wild Mourne Mountains, which were in fact an inspiration for CS Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia! The world famous Royal County Down golf course is also just 10 minutes from the house in Newcastle, and there are also plenty of local parks nearby for cycling, kayaking, sailing and other outdoor activities.
