EAT

Eating in is a pleasure here at Telfit, with options for indoor and casual outdoor dining with wonderful views. The stunning kitchen is fully equipped with a large range cooker, and American-style fridges, making it perfect for preparing culinary delights to be enjoyed by the group. Whether you’re cooking yourselves or are bringing in a private chef to cater for you, there is everything you need and more to look after your group. You can order sustainable meat and artisan Food from the Telfit Farm Shop and there is also an event room for special occasions, weddings or parties, which can be arranged by us.

SLEEP

The luxury accommodation offers sleeping arrangements for up to 22 guests in 10 bedrooms. Each bedroom has been uniquely designed, combining the rustic charm of countryside living with the elegance and comfort of modern luxury. The Main house has 8 double bedrooms with bathrooms ensuite, one bedroom being on the ground floor. The Cart House has two double bedrooms and a bathroom.

RELAX

From birdwatching to outdoor yoga, you can be as wild and free as you want at Telfit. There is an outdoor wooden hot tub, a sauna and a firepit with seating, which would be perfect for evening hot chocolates and smores. There’s also a games room with a ping-pong table and below the house is the beck which guests can swim in if wild swimming is your thing. The event room can also be transformed into a yoga room with space to place yoga mats and equipment if required. There is also a further television room with a wood burner and smart television for those cosy nights in.

Telfit Farm is situated in beautiful countryside in a picturesque valley in Swaledale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Set in a glacial bowl, the views of the moor and beck are extensive and stunning as one of the most northerly of the unspoilt Yorkshire Dales with many walking and cycling routes accessible all year round. There are picturesque nearby market towns, independent restaurants, welcoming pubs and ancient castles to explore within easy reach. Telfit is just 8 miles from the market town of Richmond, 20 miles from Darlington Station and 23 miles from Northallerton Station.

Leading from the kitchen through open bifold doors is the dining room with round table seating 8 so including kitchen table there is seating dining for 22 guests.

FIRST FLOOR

Upstairs are 7 bedrooms, 6 of which are doubles with 3 of those having the capacity to be turned into twins. There is also a twin bedroom.
There is one double bedroom and ensuite shower on the Ground Floor. This bed can be made as a double or a twin bed.

THE CART HOUSE

Two further double bedrooms one on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The ground floor bedroom can be a double or a twin.

The sofa is a sofa bed to make up to 22 guests. Please request on booking if you would like this made up.

BED FORMATIONS

There are 9 double bedrooms, 3 of which can be changed to twin rooms, 1 twin bedroom and a sofa bed.

If you would like any of the doubles changed to twin beds please notify us 14 days before arrival.

OUTSIDE

Large terrace overlooking the valley with outdoor dining and bbq area.
Wooden Hot Tub, Sauna and seating area with Firepit.
The River is a short walk from the house where guests can swim.

EVENT ROOM

Large event room with wood burning stove, oak floors, original beams, catering kitchen and cloakroom.
This provides a space where all can join together for special dinners, weddings, conferences, seminars and yoga retreats.
The barn hosts a separate kitchen for our in-house caterers and weddings are beautifully and seamlessly organised by our in-house wedding curator Riverside Events.
Yoga, Pilates and massages can also be organised with sufficient notice being provided.

Telfit Farm is located on the Telfit Estate positioned in a beautiful bowl with far reaching views and the moor above and river below.

Within 5 miles you can be in the historic market town of Richmond, with its cobbled market square, Richmond Castle, Station Cinema, Georgian Theatre Royal and local shops. Leyburn, Reeth and Hawes all good examples of Yorkshire Dales market towns are close by with many restaurants and friendly pubs. Children can be memorably entertained at the Forbidden Corner or for the adults a cultural experience at the renowned Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle.

The Yorkshire Dales are a year-round destination for many activities such as cycling, walking, nature watching, visiting historic castles, abbeys, bustling market towns and pretty villages and Telfit Farm is the perfect place to stay whilst exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

Trains:

Darlington and Northallerton are within easy reach of the house.

I cannot recommend highly enough staying at Telfit Farm. This is magical place in a giant amphitheatre just below the moors near Marske. The views from the house are unadulterated by any houses just cattle and sheep grazing in the pastures.
This is the ideal place for a large family get together with plenty of space in a beautifully decorated and kitted out house. Yorkshire Escapes were brilliant looking after our gathering and could not have been more helpful.

Fantastic family getaway at Telfit farm! Every room was beautiful to stay in and most had an en-suite. Great social spaces with plenty of seating for everyone. BBQ and hot tub/sauna were an absolute hit! The scenery is beautiful with walks on the doorstep and fantastic views. Would definitely recommend and we hope to stay again!

Such a beautiful house, so many amenities we could have stayed for weeks and were so sad to leave after a long weekend! The team really went the extra mile in helping us get to the house as it was incredibly snowy but they did everything they could to help and we made it! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

Had a wonderful stay at Telfit farm in November. The house is beautiful; warm and cosy yet spacious enough for all of us, 18 adults altogether. And set in the gorgeous North Yorkshire dales. What more could you want.Also thanks to the very welcoming and attentive staff.

Stayed in complete cosy luxury. Totally changed my world view, yes it’s THAT good. Peaceful, charming and a breathtaking location. It’s got it all, gives ‘getting away from it all’ a whole new meaning.

Fabulous house and wonderful catering. Beds super comfortable with lovely pillows and sheets made for a restful night. Breathtaking views down the secluded valley. The walks are many and varied if you want to work up an appetite which we did, from following the stream to stretching for the valley tops for the glorious views. This house is a proper country house, welcoming in a classically English style…with added comfort. Some lovely swanky marble in the our bathroom. Toasty warm. It sits in cleverly landscaped surrounds that blend perfectly with the surrounding steep valleys. Will definitely stay again, can’t wait to be back.

I cannot speak highly enough of Telfit Farm. It was the most perfect weekend with friends we could have asked for. The views are incredible and you feel like your in your own world. Everything from the kitchen to the lounge areas, to the bedrooms and en-suites have been designed and created beautifully. The other annexes are also amazing, with a ping pong table and yoga room where we had a class overlooking the beautiful Dales. If you are looking for somewhere to retreat, relax and refresh this is the place to go. Can’t also speak more highly of Victoria for all of her help and guidance!
