Howesyke, near Leyburn, Yorkshire Dales

Dating from 1727, Howesyke is a traditional Dales farmhouse beautifully decorated with stunning views and surrounded by a large terrace and garden.

Set in 2000 acres of private farmland in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in the little known dale of Bishopdale. A secret haven located between Kettlewell and Leyburn, a 5 minute drive from Aysgarth Falls and close to a network of public footpaths; inviting you to explore the Dales countryside and villages.

The stone farmhouse sits behind Bishopdale Beck, set back against the fells with the land dramatically rising to 1400 feet behind it.

Situated half a mile off the main road and retaining the original facade of the house, Howesyke has been recently extended and modernised to create a beautiful 8 bedroom farmhouse. A delightful Bothy, only a few yards from the garden door, offers a private spacious 9th bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor.

The recent renovation added an extension onto the existing farmhouse, incorporating the adjoining barn into the domestic accommodation, creating a large area without losing the charm of the original features.

The Games Barn, 10 mins walk away, provides a perfect space of a games room with snooker table and ping pong table. This is for hire separately. Please enquire for availability.

We had a fantastic stay at Howesyke farm. The house was beautiful and spotless, the rooms were all finished to a high quality with modern bathrooms. The location was peaceful and private and gave access to some fantastic walks and is close to a number of local attractions. We received a warm welcome and were shown around all facilities and all of our needs / requests were accommodated. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

An Amazing place for a family or friends gathering.

We stayed at the house for a weekend and it was outstanding in every respect. The decor, appliances and amenities were all the best you can get. On arrival we received a welcome hamper and a cake which was phenomenal. We really couldn’t fault it.

The house is beautiful and the photos don’t do justice to how gorgeous the house is inside, it is an absolute dream! Yorkshire Escapes were on hand all weekend, only a text message away should we have needed anything. I would recommend this place as a holiday to anyone, it feels very cosy and homely so is a perfect choice for large or small groups. My only regret is that we didn’t stay for longer, as after 3 nights, none of us wanted to leave!

Lovely break in this stunning house. Comfortable, clean and warm. Peaceful and remote! Definitely recommend. Thank you.

We loved our stay at Howesyke! The house was immaculate and the location stunning. Highly recommend for family gatherings.

We stayed here with a group of 14 to celebrate my Dad’s 70th, and I can’t speak highly enough about the place – it was absolutely beautiful. For such a large group, we still had more space than we needed in some respects… the property is very well equipped, has amazing facilities and is just stunning, in incredible surroundings, too. My family and all the guests were blown away by how lovely it was.
