Intake is a super-stylish, newly decorated stone-built house set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. It offers a perfect peaceful retreat for up to 8 guests with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Located just a mile from the village of Kirkby Malzeard, this is the ultimate luxury holiday home for exploring the beautiful Nidderdale countryside.

EAT

The stunning and spacious kitchen at Intake House is well-equipped for cooking with its modern units and fittings. It also features a large farmhouse table which is perfect for cosy family meals. French doors open to the garden space, offering beautiful scenic views of the surrounding Yorkshire countryside. There is also a paved area where you can set up outdoor dining in warmer weather.

SLEEP

Intake provides luxury sleeping accommodation with four beautifully designed double bedrooms and three bathrooms. One double bedroom and a shower room are located on the ground floor,  while the first floor is home to three double bedrooms, including a master bedroom with an ensuite shower room. The other two bedrooms share a family bathroom, providing ample space for a relaxing stay.

RELAX

The house offers a range of relaxing spaces to chill out, including a comfy sitting room with two large sofas, a wood-fired log burner, and a Smart TV. Adjacent to this is a snug, featuring an L-shaped sofa and another television. French doors lead out to the garden space, where you can unwind with a herbal tea and enjoy the restorative countryside views.

EXPLORE

Intake is ideally located for exploring the beautiful Nidderdale countryside. With access to a nearby wood and beautiful outdoor space, it’s great for those who love to spend time outdoors and soak up all the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales. You can explore Kirkby Malzeard, just a mile away, with its village shop, butchers, and pub. While Pateley Bridge is just a 10-minute drive away, offering a variety of independent shops and quaint cafes. Ripon is just 7 miles away, providing further attractions and experiences such as Newby Hall and Ripon Cathedral.

Guests approach Intake, a mile outside of Kirkby Malzeard, off the main road and down a farm track to the house.

GROUND FLOOR

Guests enter the house into the hallway which leads through to the large kitchen/dining room with large farmhouse kitchen table and chairs and french doors leading out to the outdoor space. The Kitchen leads through to the Sitting Room with beamed ceilings and stone flagged floor, large comfy sofas, wood burner, smart tv and door leading out to the garden. There is a Snug off the Sitting room with L shaped sofa and television. A hallway leads from the sitting room to the hallway for hanging coats and door leading outside. There is a downstairs double bedroom and a downstairs shower room.

FIRST FLOOR

Stairs leading up from the sitting room to the first floor which has 3 double bedrooms the master bedroom has an ensuite shower room and there are two further double bedrooms with a family bathroom.

GARDEN

French doors lead from the kitchen to the outside space and there are also 3 other doors leading from the sitting room, hallway and utility room to the outside. There are views over the surrounding countryside and and farm track leading up to the the road. Across the field is access to a wood which guests have access to walk in.

Intake is located in the beautiful Nidderdale countryside.

Kirkby Malzeard is a mile away and Pateley Bridge is a 10-minute drive and has a good range of shops and facilities.

Ripon is 7 miles away.

The nearest railway station is Harrogate, a 20-minute drive. Taxis are usually available at the station.

Beautiful place in the most beautiful location. Perfect respite and so peaceful with plenty of space to walk in nature. Rooms were comfortable and spacious and kitchen was well kitted out to make our own meals. Would recommend.

We were very pleased with our stay at Intake which suited our needs perfectly. The views were lovely and the surrounding area was peaceful with plenty of wildlife and birds to spot. The house itself has been thoughtfully renovated creating a perfect holiday location for our large family celebration.

The house was lovely and set well back from the road so was very peaceful. The property was furnished to a high standard and the kitchen was very well equipped – a refreshing change!

A gorgeous home with beautiful architecture. Highly recommend this lovely house, we stayed for a week and loved the experience. It was extremely private & in a great location for walking and exploring. Luxury bedding, immaculate rooms, great sized kitchen & many more amazing qualities to this place!

Beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. The furnishings, bedding, towels, kitchen equipment etc are all of excellent quality.
It was warm and cosy but also spacious. The large bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean.  It is a beautiful place to stay, with views of the countryside but also easy access to Harrogate, Ripon etc. Our family would certainly love to stay there again.

The cottage was perfect for a large family and dogs. Use of adjacent woodland was fabulous for morning walks with our four legged friends.
The cottage was presented beautifully and very clean on arrival. Excellent quality furniture and comfortable beds. Fully equipped with everything you may need.The cottage is in a stunning location surrounded by wildlife and amazing to see the hares in the adjacent fields.
Ideally situated for visiting fountains Abbey which was one of the reasons I booked this. Family went on a ghost tour in York which was very enjoyable. Ripon is very close to visit and a really nice city.

Had a lovely stay at Intake. The property was well suited to us with a downstairs bedroom and bathroom which worked well for my elderly Mother. The kitchen was well equipped and the living rooms comfortable. The location was beautiful with lots of gorgeous Autumn colours. It was easy to access all of the Yorkshire Dales from the location yet easy to get to Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough.

A beautiful house right in the heart of of the countryside. The cottage was cosy and tucked away in a peaceful area. The bedrooms were very spacious, beds comfy, plenty of space in the living areas and a very large kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay here 🙂

Beautiful property on the edge of a lovely little village which had a butchers, village shop etc. Lots of great pubs nearby too. House is a private and peaceful setting, super comfy and spacious rooms. Can’t fault!

Intake was a beautiful property set in a valley with a drive up to the main road. A stunning location which was peaceful and afforded stunning views across the fields.
The house was in perfect order, newly done up it seems and the furnishings and beds were so comfortable. The bed linen and towels of a high standard. Yorkshire Escapes were very helpful and efficient.
The area is wonderful. We enjoyed visiting Fountains Abbey, Newby Hall and the Himalayan Gardens and sculpture park. All within easy distance. Ripon is a lovely city with interesting museums.

Beautiful cottage to spend a few days. Nice to see the sheep and their lambs in the adjoining field. Loved having a downstairs bedroom and toilet so the oldies could come along too. Everything was spot on! Lots of pots and pans and utensils to be able to cook, without having to worry. Logs provided for the logburner which was very much appreciated… Beautiful views and a very peaceful location. Hoping to return as soon as we can.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage, furnished to a very high standard and immaculate, with all the amenities you could ever need. The surrounding area is stunning and we were lucky to have a really good week of weather too! Great location for walking and had some nice day trips to Ripon, Harrogate & Pateley Bridge. Lovely peaceful house set in the countryside down a long track from a quiet road. It is a very comfortable with lots of character. It is ideal for families to stay. The house is surrounded by fields, with sheep, deer, rabbits, hares and birds including curlews.
We enjoyed our stay for a long weekend in April and the sun shone everyday.

We had a lovely time, the house was full of character, tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed for cooking and dining. The beds were comfortable, with cosy duvets.

We looked at some of the books and played with games with our grandchildren.

We enjoyed being in the quiet and peaceful location listening to the birds and watching the sheep & lambs, rabbits and hares.

We loved our stay at Intake cottage. The pictures don’t do the property justice, everything was spotless, the kitchen was really well stocked and the scenery was beautiful. A perfect country escape, we will be back thank you!

Wonderful place. We visited as an extended family with a 4 and 1 year old . Plenty of space and character. It was also very well resourced.

Intake is a tastefully furnished, spacious house in an unspoilt rural location. It is very hard to find fault with it. We had a great week and would definitely like to return. The service from Yorkshire Escapes was quick, efficient and helpful.

Fantastic place to stay. Spotlessly clean, everything you need in the fully equipped kitchen. Every room is large and beautifully decorated. The house is even better than the photos. Good nights sleep in the quiet location, great views over the countryside and wildlife that surrounds it. Such a lovely place to visit the area and spend time with family. We had a great stay at Intake. There was plenty of space for us all (6 adults, 2 babies and 2 dogs). The kitchen was well equipped and the living room is cosy but spacious. Great location just out of town with nice views and surrounding fields. We would definitely recommend staying here and would come again!
