This is a place where modern comforts meet timeless charm, and all located just a very short stroll away from Helmsley’s charming town centre. A perfect setting for relaxed family escapes, grown-up getaways, and celebratory stays with friends.

EAT

The modern kitchen at Foxglove is made for prepping lingering breakfasts and relaxed dinners. Fully equipped and beautifully designed, it features an American-style fridge freezer, plenty of prep space. When it’s time to eat, gather everyone together in the open-plan dining area, or enjoy meals outside when the weather’s kind – there’s plenty of space to dine, sip, and savour those long summer evenings. But, if cooking feels like too much effort for your relaxing staycation, then Helmsley’s fantastic pubs, cafés, and restaurants are just moments away.

SLEEP

Upstairs, Foxglove Cottage offers four cosy bedrooms, all with generous storage and built-in wardrobes, so you can truly unpack and settle in. The first bedroom is a Superking, with zip-and-link beds, a peaceful outlook, a handy dressing table, and a stylish ensuite shower room. The second is another calm and comfortable Superking, again with zip-and-link beds and a private WC room. The third bedroom is a cosy double with plenty of storage, and finally a twin bedroom, perfect for children or friends sharing together. A luxury family bathroom completes the upstairs space, featuring a gorgeous roll-top bath and separate shower – ideal for slow, spa-like evenings after a day exploring the moors.

Set within a generous private garden (with the occasional friendly pheasant wandering past!), Foxglove Cottage is perfect for taking time out of a busy schedule and re-connecting with a slower pace of life. This truly is a holiday home designed for switching off, where you can sink into cosy sofas in the lounge, curl up by the traditional open fire in the main living area, and enjoy movie nights with the TV glowing softly in the background. Step outside to your enclosed private space, where the hot tub awaits – perfect for stargazing soaks with a glass of fizz in hand. With plenty of outdoor space to wander, lounge, or let children explore, relaxation comes naturally here.

The cottage is an ideal base for discovering all the best bits of North Yorkshire. Wander into Helmsley for independent shops, tearooms, and award-winning eateries, or head further afield to explore the North York Moors National Park, Rievaulx Abbey, Castle Howard and endless walking trails. Getting to Helmsley

By Car

Foxglove Cottage is easy to reach by road and comes with private parking for two cars plus an EV charger. From the A1(M), take the A170 towards Thirsk / Helmsley. The town centre is well signposted and the cottage is just a few minutes from the town centre.

By Train

Helmsley doesn’t have its own train station, but Thirsk Station is approx. 25 minutes away with direct trains from London King’s Cross in around 2 hours. Malton Station is approx. 30 minutes away with good connections from York and the north.

By Air

The nearest airports are Leeds Bradford Airport (approx. 1 hour 15 minutes by car) and Manchester Airport (approx. 2 hours by car)

Nice property – both internally and the gardens. Easy to all to town with excellent shops and facilities and well located for all that Ryedale and the Moors have to offer.

The cottage is stunning, very clean and really comfortable it had everything we needed. It’s a short walk to the village which is really lovely and again has everything from pubs, cafes, shops, etc. Its a lovely place to stay.

Foxglove is a beautiful cottage in a gorgeous village. Easy walk into the village for shops, cafes, restaurants, church. Great hikes and sights nearby including Helmsley Castle, Cleveland Way, Sutton Bank and Reivaulx Abbey. Cottage was spotlessly clean with lovely furniture and kitchen. Beds and linen were super comfy and fluffy towels too. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us and the dog. We enjoyed the hot tub and EV charger.

Perfect getaway! The cottage was spotless, comfortable and exactly as described. Lovely gardens and hot tub area with fairy lights surrounding! The kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of crockery and cooking utensils. Both lounges were snug and inviting after a day of exploring Helmsley and the local area. Bedrooms were made up as doubles following requests and thoughtful extras were left for us – shampoo, conditioners, brand new hairdryers in all rooms with attachments. Similarly to the kitchen downstairs we had a small welcome present of fizzy waters, teabags, coffee pods, chocolate biscuits and a biscuit/chutney set. Lovely touches, highly recommend, can’t wait to hopefully return!

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful area. The cottage was very luxurious with an abundance of everything you need for a stay. It was spotlessly clean!!!! No negatives at all! We will be returning. Thank you.
