Home Farm is a luxury, dog-friendly, holiday cottage on the Yorkshire coast sleeping up to eight guests. Located on the chic Saltmoore estate grounds, the cottage offers a truly peaceful retreat for lovers of the sea, with beautiful views of the nearby waterfall and is just a 5-minute walk from Sandsend beach.

EAT

After a long day of exploring the coast, the welcoming kitchen and dining area provide a relaxing space for prepping home-cooked meals and sampling the local Yorkshire delicacies. The kitchen features a modern, electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, and washing machine. You can enjoy meals together here around the dining table, which comfortably fits all guests, or for outdoor dining, follow the glass doors through to the back garden with an outside eating area beside a tranquil flowing stream – ideal for enjoying al fresco local fish and chips while soaking up the peaceful surroundings!

SLEEP

Home Farm offers four beautifully furnished bedrooms, each designed for ultimate relaxation. With luxury bedding and calming décor, the bedrooms provide everything you need for for unwinding after a day of exploring the Yorkshire coast. The ground floor features a king-size bedroom, while the first floor has two additional king-size rooms, one with an en-suite bath. A separate shower room is also on this level. The second-floor bedroom has a day bed and a pull-out trundle making this ideal for children. All rooms include a Smart TV.

Relaxation is at the heart of Home Farm with lots of calming spots to relax and take a pause from your busy life back home. The living room has a large corner sofa and Smart TV, which is perfect whether you prefer to read a book, watch a movie, or simply gaze out at the peaceful woodland surroundings. The cottage is ideally located for exploring both coastal and rural Yorkshire. Sandsend is just a short walk away, where you will find stunning beaches and spectacular coastal walking trails. There are some lovely cafes here to pop into for a coffee or a hot chocolate and everywhere has a friendly, chilled vibe. Nearby, historic Whitby offers its prolific Abbey ruins, as well as cobbled streets lined with independent shops and restaurants. The North York Moors National Park is perfect for hiking or cycling, with trails leading to picturesque villages and breathtaking views. Explore the famous Cleveland Way or take a ride on the heritage railway from Whitby to Pickering. Nearby, discover local towns like Robin Hood’s Bay, Staithes, and Saltburn, each offering its own unique charm and opportunities for adventure.

Excellent cottage, this was a wonderful cottage, great outdoor secure space for my two small dogs, very clean and with more than enough space inside for 8 people although there was only two in my party. Loved it so much I have booked again for next year.

This house was perfect for our Easter family get away. The location is beautiful and allows for walks to both Sandsend (20 mins) and Whitby (40 mins). The house was tidy and had everything we needed.

Beautiful cottage in the grounds of the Saltmoore Hotel. Nice scenic walk by the sea into Sandsend. Highly recommend the Fish Cottage for food! Throughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come for longer next time

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Home Farm Cottage. Great to have secure south facing large patio / outdoor eating area, our 9 month old Border Collie was safe to explore on her own. About 10 minutes walk to the beach. Beach was great for walking the dog on, dog restrictions apply on the beach nearer to Sandsend village. If tide permits it is a pleasant stroll along the beach to Whitby. Accommodation was comfortable and with 5 adults plus dog there was plenty of room. We parked our cars in the hotel car park which is about 3 minutes walk away.

Great location, we paid for the spa in the adjacent Saltmore Hotel which was lovely. Nice walk out the back, through the woods/field to Sandsend. Loved the space, really comfy and cosy. Highly recommended. We’ll be coming back
