EAT

Gather around the impressive dining table for wonderful evenings filled with home-cooked food, friends and laughter. The kitchen is fitted out to the highest standard with a large Smeg range cooker, an American fridge freezer, and a dishwasher to make food-prep an enjoyable experience. The summer months offer a fantastic opportunity for al-fresco dining in the stunning manicured gardens, surrounded by greenery and nature. Fancy dining out? The nearby market towns of Masham, Bedale, and Thirsk are a short drive away where you can choose from a fantastic choice of traditional pubs, gourmet restaurants, and a weekly farmers’ market.

SLEEP

With luxurious sleeping accommodation for up to ten guests, Highmoor features 5 beautifully-designed bedrooms, each with impeccable interiors and luxury hotel comforts. The Master Bedroom features a super king bed and an original fireplace for aestethic appeal with open plan bathroom ensuite. In bedroom 2, you will find a stunning super king four-poster and bedroom 3 has a superking bed. Bedroom 4 features a comfy double bed and an en-suite shower room. Bedroom 5 has a double bed and all bedrooms have high quality bed linen, towels and a selection of toiletries are all included for the added comfort of your stay. There are two separate bathrooms for bedrooms 2, 3 and 5 to share.

RELAX AND SWIMMING POOL

The wonderful thing about Highmoor is that you don’t need to leave the grounds to deem this an utterly idyllic getaway. Prepare yourself for the wonderful surprise that is the pool house, which is home to an indoor 15m heated swimming pool and sauna. With its high ceilings, exposed beams, and jaw-dropping glass doors opening onto the manicured gardens, you can enjoy five star spa treatment all to yourselves. The grounds are also home to a gym, and we encourage all guests to visit the exquisite reading room to play games and unwind during their stay.

PLEASE NOTE: If you would like use of the swimming pool this is an extra cost of £200 per stay, on booking you will be asked if you would like use of the pool and if you tick yes this payment will be added onto your booking fee.

EXPLORE

Located in Ainderby Quernhow, Highmoor sits in an ideal location from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. Keen walkers can head out and enjoy the many wonderful routes and local landmarks that make this countryside so special, and a handy boot room stores coats and wellies made muddy from long walks through the stunning surrounding countryside. You’re also within an easy drive to Ripon, one of the oldest cities in England and with a majestic cathedral to visit. York and Harrogate are a 40-minute drive away, and both are high on the list of recommended places to visit in North Yorkshire. Two well-behaved dogs are allowed at Highmoor upon request before arrival with a charge of £40 per dog per stay.

  • SWIMMING POOL: Please note if you would like access to the swimming pool it is an extra cost of £200 which we will request after you have booked the house through airbnb
  • Please note there are swimming pool rules in the pool area and these will be included in your welcome pack.
  • We ask guests to please bring slippers or shoes to walk between the house and the pool.
  • Please bring your own swimming pool towels.
  • Two dogs are allowed at Highmoor at £40 per dog per stay.
  • The grounds are not fully secure, though there is plenty of space to run around.
  • Dogs must please be kept on the ground floor, and they not allowed into the sitting room and upstairs or in the pool area.
  • Please clear up dog mess from the garden.
  • Once in the driveway, there is parking at the front of the property for the number of guests.
  • There are different areas within the garden on different levels, and the flat croquet lawn sits at the top of the bank at the rear of the house.
  • Please no sticking on walls or windows, fireworks, water balloons, confetti or glitter.
  • Please note there is cctv on the outside car park area

We ask guests to please bring slippers or shoes to walk between the house and the pool.

The Master Bedroom has a superking bed, original fireplace, open plan bathroom with roll top bath, sink unit and loo.

Bedroom 2 has a four-poster bed which is also a super king.

Bedroom 3 has a superking bed.

Bedroom 4 has a double bed and an ensuite shower room.

Bedroom 5  has a double bed.

There are 2 separate family bathrooms.

Two dogs are allowed at Highmoor at an extra cost of £40 per dog per stay.

By Train

The nearest mainline railway station to Ainderby Quernhow is Northallerton, located about 5 miles away. Northallerton is well-connected to major cities, including London, York, and Newcastle, via the East Coast Main Line. From Northallerton station, you can take a taxi or a local bus to reach Ainderby Quernhow.

By Car

Ainderby Quernhow is easily accessible by car, located about 5 miles from Northallerton. Simply follow the A167 road north from Northallerton, and you’ll reach the village in just a few minutes. There is plenty of private parking behind the electric gates.

By Bus

There are regular local bus services that run between Northallerton and nearby villages, including Ainderby Quernhow. You can check with local bus providers for specific routes and schedules. A taxi from Northallerton station to Ainderby Quernhow is also a convenient option if the bus timings don’t align with your travel plans.
