The cosy farmhouse kitchen provides a pleasant space to create home-cooked meals using local produce from the Yorkshire area. There is also an open-plan informal dining area where everyone can enjoy a meal together. You are also able to visit the walled Garden Bistro on the Estate, which is available for breakfast, lunch and supper. The Bull Pub and Restaurant is on the edge of the Estate and can also be booked for meals if you prefer to dine out.
Hawthorn sleeps 10 guests in 6 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. There are two separate staircases leading to the first floor where there are six bedrooms and three bathrooms – one being a single bedroom providing a perfect hideaway for a younger child. Each bedroom is tastefully decorated and has its own relaxing charm. Bedding and towels are provided in every room.
This period house has been stylishly furnished creating a relaxed space for guests to enjoy their time away from home. There are two sitting areas and a library/study where you can read, relax and enjoy time with loved ones. There’s also a ’kid’s cave’ in the basement where children can hang out and spend hours getting creative with the arts and crafts supplies provided. At the front of the house is a large lawned garden which stretches down to the road. Broughton Sanctuary is also available to book with an indoor swimming pool, yoga and pilates and wellbeing classes – perfect for some well-deserved R&R.
This is a wonderful venue for a sporting break whether for groups of friends or family, team building and corporate events. We can help you arrange activities such as clay pigeon shooting, archery, hot air ballooning, fishing and horse riding within the estate. We can also arrange activities at nearby venues (where applicable), such as quad biking, paintballing, golf, sailing, water skiing, shooting and kayaking. Less than half a mile away, and just across the A59, is the main estate of Broughton Hall. Guests are free to wander the vast 3000-acre grounds and discover wildlife including peacocks, roaming sheep and bridges across the river. The Estate provides wonderful walks, cycling trails, wild swimming, sauna, an outdoor swimming pool, and a tennis court – which can all be arranged before your visit.

If the weather is inclement then there’s a leisure centre, bowling alley, independent cinema and many cosy bars and restaurants suiting all tastes and budgets. Bolton Abbey, Grassington and even Ilkley can all be reached within 30 minutes’ drive.
If you head along the A59 in the opposite direction you’ll soon be in Lancashire, often overlooked in favour of its neighbour Yorkshire, but boasting some beautiful spots within the Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland, all accessible within 30 minutes’ drive. Shops and restaurants 4 miles, pubs serving food 1 mile.
