The house was beautiful, very grand but still homely and had everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable with luxurious bedding and towels. There were 13 of us but we still had a huge amount of space to spread out. The gardens were beautiful and there was plenty of garden furniture to use. The location close to Richmond and local walks was perfect. We all had a fantastic stay and would like to come back sometime.

Spectacular property, in outstanding location. Exactly as described and just the job for our 70th birthday gathering, with catered dinner. Kitchen well equipped, choice of TV lounge or posh lounge. Bathrooms & bedrooms excellent. Supply of toys and rain wear was an unexpected bonus.

Very well maintained house, sparkiling clean, lovely and comfortable bed, plenty of space to hode away, beautiful views from the bedroom, dining room, kitchen & even from the ground floor bed rooms. Completely secluded but only five to ten minutes drive away from the famous market square, new and modern retail unit (Aldi, Macdonalds, Subwayand various other outlets). Very helpful host, prompted replied to every question we asked. Painless check in/out. I will not hesitate to use it again.

This place is great. Stay here if you can. We had very high expectations, based on the pictures and five star reviews, but were even more impressed by the reality of the house. It’s huge, beautiful, and in a stunning and peaceful setting. There were 10 of us in total – six adults and four children – plus two dogs. The house is plenty big enough for everyone to have their own space, but there are also several large rooms for all sitting together. The outside space is huge. It’s like a park. There’s a lovely bit of river frontage and a load of little corners that the dogs and children enjoyed finding. It’s set well back from any roads, so there was barely any noise. The kitchen is well stocked and has an aga, which is great unless you’re lucky enough be staying here on the hottest few days of the year, in which case you might find it better to barbecue outside, because there’s a nice one of those for you to use. It’s only a 15 minute walk into Richmond, which seems like a really lovely town… but we barely spend any time there because the house was so nice to spend time in. Thanks for having us!

This was a perfect spot to retreat to in rural Yorkshire during a pandemic. The house is beautiful and so well equipped. Angela was so welcoming. Ideal if you love walking and cycling and Richmond is a lovely market town to wander into. Super pubs in the vicinity. We enjoyed swimming in the Swale
