Eat

The spacious open-plan kitchen at Castle View is perfect for entertaining large groups. The modern, shaker-style kitchen is equipped with a range of high-end appliances, including an Infusion range cooker, a double oven, and a five-zone induction hob. There is also a large fridge/freezer with an ice machine and water dispenser, two full-size dishwashers, and a double Belfast sink – ensuring you’ll have everything you need for preparing home-cooked meals during your stay. The kitchen also features a coffee bar with a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, and fridge.

The main dining table seats 16 guests, so you can all eat together, and double doors lead out to the terrace and garden, which is perfect for alfresco dining or drinks before dinner.  Fancy eating out? You can enjoy fresh seafood at The Potted Lobster, pop to The Castle Hotel for a cosy pub meal, or try out other independent eateries such as The Wyndenwell coffee shop and The Copper Kettle tea room. For something special, visit The Pantry, a local deli selling meats, cheeses, preserves, and freshly baked goods.

Sleep

There are 8 bedrooms at Castle View spread out over the ground, first and second floors. This makes it a great property for multi-generational families or large groups of friends looking to stay together but with plenty of space for themselves. You’ll find two of the bedrooms on the ground floor, each with an en-suite shower room, four bedrooms on the first floor, each with an en-suite and then two further bedrooms on the second floor, also with en-suite bathrooms. Several of the home’s bathrooms come with luxurious roll-top baths, while others feature relaxing rainfall showers. The design and layout of each bedroom ensure total luxury and comfort for all guests, so you can all enjoy a tranquil retreat after a day of exploring.

Rest

The layout of the house offers you lots of space to relax and enjoy peaceful moments indoors. The open-plan lounge is a really cosy space with large windows showing stunning views of the castle. Comfy sofas and armchairs surround the electric fire and smart TV, making it the perfect spot for unwinding and watching movies. A separate snug room is equipped with a table football table, a selection of board games, and a library of books, offering an ideal spot for quieter moments or family fun. From the lounge, French doors lead out to the garden and terrace, which is ideal for letting the outside in on warmer days and taking in the fresh coastal air. The outdoor space features an enclosed garden, a spacious patio with outdoor furniture, a firepit (logs not supplied), and a charcoal barbecue.

Explore

Bamburgh is one of Northumberland’s most stunning and scenic seaside villages. The village offers lots to explore, with local shops, friendly tea rooms, cosy pubs, and miles of golden sandy beaches to wander. For golf enthusiasts, Bamburgh Golf Course is also within walking distance and is often considered one of the most scenic golf courses in Britain with views of Lindisfame. Nearby, the town of Alnwick offers attractions like Alnwick Castle and Gardens, as well as an iconic secondhand book store, while the fishing town of Seahouses offers boat trips to the Farne Islands and Holy Island. The location is also ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, with a range of walking and cycling routes on the doorstep.

Guests lead into the entrance hall and through to the main hall with staircase leading up to the first floor.

The entrance hall leads through to the open plan sitting/kitchen/dining room with comfy sofas and armchairs, smart tv, electric fire, large kitchen island and bar chairs, dining table with seating for 16 guests.

Double doors lead from the sitting room and kitchen to the terrace and garden. The shaker style kitchen containing Infusion range cooker with grill, double oven and five zone induction hob. Combo microwave with separate grill, large fridge/freezer with ice machine and water dispenser.

Large kitchen island unit with double Belfast sink, two full size dishwashers, and five bar stools. There is a tea and coffee bar in the kitchen with Logik Coffee Machine, sink, fridge, toaster and kettle.Three steps lead down to the utility/boot room with washer/dryer, filter coffee maker, ice maker, bench seating and storage, hanging rail.

Enclosed garden to the rear of the property with views of Bamburgh Castle, spacious patio, wooden outdoor furniture, bench seating an outdoor fireplace (logs not supplied) and charcoal barbecue. Small artificially turfed lawn with large outdoor dining table and chairs. The garden is next to a field separated by a dry stone wall (approximately 55cm in height at its lowest point and 70cm on the side boundary). The field bounds onto the public car park for Bamburgh Castle.

Private off-road parking to the side of the property with sufficient space for 3-4 cars. Otherwise village parking or parking in the Links public car park (charges do apply) directly opposite the castle.

By Car:

From London: 6-6.5 hours via A1(M) north.

From Newcastle: 1.5 hours via A1 north.

By Train:

From London: Train to Alnmouth, then taxi/bus to Bamburgh (20 mins).

From Newcastle: Train to Chathill, then taxi to Bamburgh (10 mins).

By Plane:

Fly to Newcastle Airport, then drive or take a train to Bamburgh.
