Welcome to 4 Pond View, a charming three-bedroom holiday cottage nestled in the rural heart of North Yorkshire. Overlooking a tranquil village pond, the cottage is full of countryside charisma and is the perfect base for families, couples, or friends to explore the delights of the Yorkshire Dales, or simply relax in peaceful surroundings.

EAT

The cottage’s kitchen is modern and well-equipped with all the items you need to whip up delicious meals and snacks during your stay. You’ll find a fridge/freezer, electric oven, microwave, toaster, and dishwasher as standard. Plus, a Magimix Nespresso machine and cafetière for your morning brew – best enjoyed outside on the private patio! Whether you’re preparing family home-cooked favourites or sampling a local takeaway, everyone can eat together at the cosy dining table. Or, step out into the south-facing terraced garden for alfresco feasts from the charcoal BBQ as you relax in nature. A high chair is available too, making it easier to cater for all ages.

Whether you’re waking up early to head out on your road bike, or are looking forward to lazy mornings without your alarm clock, you can be sure to wake up to peaceful views and calming birdsong at Pond View. With three delightful bedrooms upstairs, the cottage comfortably sleeps up to six guests, and the rooms can include flexible twin bed setups that are perfect for families or friends – just be sure to let us know what suits your group best at the time of booking. Crisp bed linen and soft towels are provided for all guests, and thoughtful extras like a hairdryer and a travel cot ensure a fuss-free stay. There is a main shared bathroom upstairs with a luxurious sink and modern shower, plus a downstairs WC for convenience.

If you’re looking for time away from the city and all the noise that comes with it, then this cosy end-of-terrace cottage is your perfect escape. Unwind in the lounge with a roaring log burner and Smart TV, or enjoy a peaceful afternoon in the sun-drenched garden reading your latest book or catching up with friends. The fenced, south-facing outdoor space is safe and secure – making it ideal for pets and young children, and there’s even secure bike storage for avid cyclists. The outhouse utility room is a real bonus for those who love their outdoor adventures – it features washing and drying facilities, so you can sort out muddy clothes and accessories in there, while keeping the main house for relaxation only.

The cottage’s location is especially ideal for walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers as you can wander local trails, explore ancient woodlands like Hackfall, or head out on one of the nearby Tour de Yorkshire cycle routes. Just a couple of miles away, you can enjoy the charm of Masham and Ripon, where you will stumble on a fantastic selection of independent eateries, award-winning pubs and traditional markets to pick up local, artisan products and souvenirs.

By Road

Grewelthorpe is approx. 15 mins from Ripon, 10 mins from Masham, 45 mins from Harrogate, and 1 hour 15 mins from Leeds or York. The village is easily accessible by car: From the A1(M). Exit at Junction 50 (Baldersby Interchange), follow signs to Ripon, then on to Masham and Grewelthorpe. Parking is available on the main road about 15 metres from the property.

By Train

The nearest major stations are Thirsk, Harrogate, and Northallerton. From there, take a taxi or local bus to Grewelthorpe (approx. 25–35 mins by car).

Train services connect from Leeds, York, Manchester, and London Kings Cross.

By Air

Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) – approx. 50 mins by car. Teesside International Airport – about 1 hour by car.

Car hire or taxi from the airport is the most convenient option.

Fabulous property, extremely tastefully furnished and decorated throughout.  Location couldn’t be faulted, lovely village, but easy access to surrounding places of interest.

Really beautiful place. Everything you could possibly think of available! Such a lovely setting. Easy to access local towns/train station by car.
