The kitchen leads seamlessly into the sitting area, where you can enjoy meals in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. For a change of pace, the south-facing lawned garden outside is perfect for alfresco dining, with a charming picnic table set against breathtaking views of the surrounding Yorkshire Dales.

SLEEP

The barn features two beautifully designed en-suite bedrooms, both on the ground floor. Bedroom 1 features a Hypnos zip-link super king bed with the flexibility to choose between a super king or twin beds, while Bedroom 2 offers a double bed. Both rooms are equipped with Freesat TVs for entertainment and have large windows that let in plenty of natural light, offering stunning views across the moors. The rustic charm of the flagstone floors and underfloor heating ensures a warm and comfortable stay.

RELAX

After a day filled with Yorkshire adventure, you can retreat back to East Homestead to relax and unwind. The sitting room has an open, airy feel and features stunning exposed timber trusses above. You can sink into the comfy leather sofa by the wood-burning stove and enjoy its warmth while reading or watching TV. Step outside and you’ll find a private, south-facing garden with a perfectly lawned area, recliner chairs, and picnic table. The garden is ideal for enjoying peaceful moments and spending time with your friends or family savouring the fresh countryside air and the surrounding stunning views.

East Homestead is located in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and is an ideal base for outdoor exploration and stumbling on quaint towns and villages. You can enjoy scenic walks and cycling trails right on your doorstep, or venture to nearby attractions and cultural hotspots. The market town of Helmsley is nearby and is perfect for sightseeing, with Duncombe Park offering stunning views and history. Nunnington Hall is another must-visit for lovers of beautiful gardens and rich heritage. The market town of Pickering is also close where you can find a lovely selection of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Getting to East Homestead…

By Car:

Church Houses is located in the beautiful North York Moors National Park. If you’re driving, you can access it from Helmsley, which is approximately 8 miles away. From Helmsley, take the B1257 towards the village of Slingsby and then follow the minor roads leading to Church Houses. It’s a scenic drive through the moors with plenty of parking available once you arrive.

By Train:

The nearest train station to Church Houses is Malton, about 12 miles away. From Malton, you’ll need to catch a bus or taxi to reach Church Houses. Trains to Malton run regularly from York and Scarborough, making it an accessible option from nearby cities.

By Bus:

Public buses to Church Houses can be taken from Helmsley or Malton. The 142 and 128 bus services run routes through the North York Moors and connect these towns to surrounding villages. However, service schedules may be limited, so it’s best to check the timetables in advance for up-to-date information on routes and times.
