The fully-equipped kitchen at East Homestead offers everything you need to prep delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. With modern appliances including an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, and freezer, you’ll have all the conveniences of home. The kitchen leads seamlessly into the sitting area, where you can enjoy meals in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. For a change of pace, the south-facing lawned garden outside is perfect for alfresco dining, with a charming picnic table set against breathtaking views of the surrounding Yorkshire Dales.

SLEEP

The barn features two beautifully designed en-suite bedrooms, both on the ground floor. Bedroom 1 features a Hypnos zip-link super king bed with the flexibility to choose between a super king or twin beds, while Bedroom 2 offers a double bed. Both rooms are equipped with Freesat TVs for entertainment and have large windows that let in plenty of natural light, offering stunning views across the moors. The rustic charm of the flagstone floors and underfloor heating ensures a warm and comfortable stay.

After a day filled with Yorkshire adventure, you can retreat back to East Homestead to relax and unwind. The sitting room has an open, airy feel and features stunning exposed timber trusses above. Getting to East Homestead…

By Car:

Church Houses is located in the beautiful North York Moors National Park. If you’re driving, you can access it from Helmsley, which is approximately 8 miles away. From Helmsley, take the B1257 towards the village of Slingsby and then follow the minor roads leading to Church Houses. It’s a scenic drive through the moors with plenty of parking available once you arrive.

By Train:

The nearest train station to Church Houses is Malton, about 12 miles away. From Malton, you’ll need to catch a bus or taxi to reach Church Houses. Trains to Malton run regularly from York and Scarborough, making it an accessible option from nearby cities.

By Bus:

Public buses to Church Houses can be taken from Helmsley or Malton. The 142 and 128 bus services run routes through the North York Moors and connect these towns to surrounding villages. However, service schedules may be limited, so it’s best to check the timetables in advance for up-to-date information on routes and times.
