Victoria Bilborough
Founder
Victoria has lived in Yorkshire for most of her life, giving her an extensive knowledge of the region, from its most sought-after villages to its hidden countryside gems. Her deep-rooted connection to the area, combined with a lifelong passion for property, laid the foundations for Yorkshire Escapes.
Before launching the business, Victoria built a strong career as both an estate and lettings agent, alongside working as an interior designer. She ran her own design business in London for four years and later returned to Yorkshire where she managed numerous property builds. This gave her a uniquely well-rounded understanding of what makes a home both commercially successful and genuinely special to stay in.
Since founding Yorkshire Escapes, Victoria’s guiding principle has remained the same: a truly personal, bespoke service for both homeowners and guests. Her understanding of what clients want and need, paired with her meticulous eye for detail, continues to shape the brand’s reputation for quality and care.
Outside of work, Victoria can often be found cycling through the Yorkshire Dales, spending time with family and friends, and walking her beautiful dogs, never far from the landscape that inspired the business in the first place.
Laura Read
Property Manager
With a background in fashion and design, Laura brings a natural eye for detail and a creative touch to everything she does. She joined Yorkshire Escapes in 2021 after relocating from the North East and quickly became an key part of the team.
As one of our two Property Managers, Laura oversees the day-to-day management of our larger homes, working closely with owners while coordinating bookings and handling guest enquiries. From the first point of contact to the final details before arrival, she ensures every stay runs seamlessly.
Outside of Yorkshire Escapes, Laura loves to sew and enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and their son, Harrison. Weekends are often spent exploring the Yorkshire countryside with their fox red and golden Labradors, Bella and Pippa, making the most of the landscapes she now proudly calls home.
Tom Bilborough
Partner
Born and bred in Yorkshire, Tom combines strong northern roots with big-city experience. He began his career in London, stepping straight into the fast-paced world of IT and SaaS, where he quickly established himself in sales by building trusted relationships with new clients. A few years later, Tom was headhunted by an ambitious tech start-up to join their growing sales division, a testament to both his performance and reputation within the industry.
Now back in Yorkshire as Partner and Head of Growth, Tom leads on expanding the portfolio and nurturing relationships across the region. With a natural ability to connect with people and a genuine passion for the area, he works closely with homeowners and local partners to grow the business in a way that feels both ambitious and authentic.
Outside of work, you will find Tom on the football pitch or walking his dogs through the Yorkshire Dales, making the most of the countryside he’s proud to call home.
Lizzie Simpson
Marketing Manager
Outside of work, Lizzie can usually be found enjoying Yorkshire’s fantastic food scene with friends or back on the farm with her family, never too far from the countryside she calls home.
Carrie Leek
Content Consultant
Born and raised in Beverley, Carrie has lived and worked in Nice, London, and Manchester, but has now happily returned to Yorkshire, where she lives with her husband and two sons.
With a 20-year career in Marketing, Events & Partnerships, she has led major projects including her role as Head of Events at the British Fashion Council, where she oversaw the creative planning and delivery of London Fashion Week and the British Fashion Awards. For the past eight years, Carrie has worked as a consultant for a range of travel, interior, and property brands, helping to shape engaging organic content strategies and strengthen their online presence through SEO.
She loves running and yoga, and also trying to beat her husband and sons at padel, golf and tennis!
Jo Hunter
Head of Accounting
Jo has worked as an accountant for the last 16 years, and a qualified chartered accountant for the latter 10 years. Once she became qualified, Jo was given an amazing opportunity to work and live in the Cayman Islands, before moving back to be with friends and family in 2014. In the UK, Jo worked for Murray Harcourt, YRG Ground Ltd and now she heads up the accounts department for Yorkshire Escapes! Jo – we don’t know what we’d do without you!
In her own time, Jo enjoys exercising, eating out with family and friends, her family home, and of course her gorgeous son Harry.
Lisa Walker
Property Manager
Lisa relocated to North Yorkshire from South Africa, bringing with her a background in office management and client services. Her organized approach and natural ability to support both homeowners and guests make her a valued part of the Yorkshire Escapes team.
As one of our two Property Managers, Lisa oversees the day-to-day management of our smaller homes and cottages, ensuring bookings, guest enquiries and owner communication are handled smoothly and efficiently. Working closely alongside Laura, she helps maintain the exceptional standards and personal service our guests have come to expect.
Outside of the office, Lisa enjoys spending time in her garden and exploring the Yorkshire Dales with her dogs, embracing the countryside lifestyle that first drew her to the region.
Inca
Office Dog
Inca loves spending her days in the office specialising in distraction when it is most needed (and sometimes when it definitely isn’t) by comically flipping in circles and eagerly jumping up on your knee to check you’re ok. However, her strongest talent has to be fly catching – without this in the summer, Yorkshire Escapes would be at a loss.
In her personal time, Inca sunbathes on the office steps, patrols incoming deliveries and chases the other dogs around the garden (with or without consent). We are extremely grateful for everything she has done at Yorkshire Escapes – keep up the good work Inca!
