Getting to Grosmont

By Car

Grosmont is easily accessible by car, offering a scenic drive through the beautiful North York Moors National Park. The village is located about 6 miles from the larger town of Whitby, and 25 miles from Scarborough. From the A169, you can follow the signs to Grosmont, taking you down picturesque country roads. Once in the village, you’ll find the cottages nestled along a farm track, offering you a peaceful, rural retreat. Parking is available at the front of the property for your convenience.

By Train

Grosmont has its own train station, offering excellent connections to nearby towns and cities. The station is well-served by the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, providing a picturesque steam train journey through the moors. You can catch a regular service from Whitby or Pickering to Grosmont, and from there, it’s just a short walk to the cottage. If you’re coming from further afield, you can travel to Whitby or Middlesbrough and connect to the local trains.

By Air

The closest airport to Grosmont is Teesside International Airport (approximately 50 miles away), which offers flights from various UK destinations. From the airport, you can drive or take a train to Grosmont. Alternatively, Leeds Bradford Airport is around 90 miles away and offers a wider range of international flights. Both airports provide convenient access to the North York Moors region, making Grosmont an easy destination to reach by air for those traveling from further afield.

On arriving and being met by host we felt right at home. Grosmont is in stunning surroundings which matches the accommodation. Absolutely gorgeous, we will definitely be back.

It was lovely to arrive at Grosmont Farm to a warm cottage after a long drive and to be shortly met by Megan who was genuinely pleased to meet us and offer help in finding our way round the local area and local eateries. The cottage was clean, warm and well equipped making our stay very enjoyable. It is a place where we would be very happy to return to in future.

This is an amazing holiday cottage. High quality barn conversion with equally high quality furniture, TV and appliances. Spotlessly clean, beds and bedlinen very comfortable and very good showers.

Beautiful barn conversion, spotlessly clean and all linens, towels, furniture and equipment of top quality. Esk Valley Walk goes through the farm and Grosmont within walking distance. Coastal towns and villages within easy reach by car.

This Cottage is absolutely beautifully decorated and has all the essentials you need to enjoy your stay. Lovely welcome flowers and biscuits made it feel like home the second we arrived. Such a peaceful location but right next to Grosmont and the NYMR. If it’s a clear night when you stay then step outside later in the evening to see an amazing show of stars once it’s fully dark! Will definitely look to return next year.

We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful modern, but traditional decor, spotlessly clean and complete peace and quiet. It was very cosy and comfortable. For us town folk, it was in the middle of nowhere, yet Whitby was a 15 minute drive, and the small village of Grosmont was even closer. We enjoyed watching the cows and grouse from the back door and being surrounded by nature. The kitchen was well equipped, and having two bathrooms was definitely appreciated. We would happily stay again.

Wow!! We booked this accommodation to spend quality time with our friends whilst they were touring from Australia If you’re interested in this accommodation you won’t be disappointed, it’s spotless, comfy clean beds, soft clean towels, equipped kitchen enough to cook meals on the premises, gas bbq all this with no expense spared on furnishings and fittings… just like the photos on the website

The accommodation is a little gem surrounding by beautiful North Yorkshire rolling hills. Both the living area and bathrooms were beautifully spacious, light and airy. I would recommend this converted byre to anyone thinking of staying in North Yorkshire. The North Yorkshire Moors railway is within a short distance at Grosmont.

Comfy beds and sofas and the place has been furnished to a nice standard. The views are wonderful and we enjoyed the local walk on the river. Lots of sights to see within 30 mins.
